Membrey Serobe
Membrey Serobe holds an MBL in Leadership and BCom (Business management). She is
a Senior Audit manager with Group Internal Audit, FirstRand, and a member of the
Institution of Internal Audit. She was appointed in 1995 as Branch manager at the
Standard Bank of South Africa, responsible for directing and managing the branch’s
resources, in line with the bank’s short and long term plan, policies and values
with a view to generating the highest return on capital employed. She joined the
FirstRand Group in 2000 as the commercial credit manager in the Credit Division.
She has extensive experience in banking, having held various positions, including
that of a Branch manager and Relationship manager.
She currently serves as a board member for Intersite Investments. She previously
served on the board of the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) from September
2006 to March 2011, on the Audit and Risk Management as well as the Governance and
Performance Committees. She also chaired the Human Resources and Remuneration Committee
for 18 months and was thereafter appointed the chairperson of Safety, Health and
Environment Committee.
